Location: Algoma Passenger Station, Sault Ste Marie, Ontario
Cost: $109.73 CAD per person for the Train Tour
Transportation: We drove from Toronto, it was around 8 hours (Make sure you fill up on gas along the way as there are limited gas stations )
My friends have usually criticized me for not exploring my own province and choosing other countries over my own. I decided to prove them wrong and go explore the great Canadian wilderness. I chose the Agawa Canyon Train tour and Sault St Marie as I had heard great things about it and fall is my favourite season.
What is the Agawa Canyon?

Fun Fact: “Agawa” actually means shelter in Ojibway.
The Agawa Canyon was formed 1.2 Billion years ago. The Canyon has a serene and relaxing vibe. For those who are more active there are several trails, stunning waterfalls and a gorgeous look out. Incredible fact: You can only access the Canyon by a hiking trail or this train tour, meaning it is not a tourist trap!

The train departed at 8 am and was scheduled to returned at 6 pm. We actually returned at 10 pm instead as it was really hot and the train had to run slower than usual for safety reasons. On a regular schedule the train stops for 90 mins at the canyon, however we had 30 mins due to the hot weather and delayed train schedule.
The train itself has a food cafeteria. I would not recommend eating on the train. Enjoy a picnic at the canyon, pack your own delicious lunch!
Boarding the train A Queens Throne
The train ride was scenic and relaxing. Once at the Canyon I was in complete awe of how beautiful it really was. The Canyon is full of colour and since the only people present are the train passengers it is a completely unique and personal experience. I suggest you find a nice quiet and relaxing spot and take it all in
